OUR HISTORY

Since 1984, Sterling Helicopter has been providing their customers with quality service at their FAA approved repair station which is capable and authorized to perform the highest quality maintenance needed.

Sterling Helicopter “got off the ground” in 1984, based on the vision of its Chairman Jack Brown, a pilot and aviation enthusiast. As Philadelphia’s only Heliport and Helicopter Repair Station, Sterling has built an excellent reputation offering professional helicopter services locally, nationally and internationally meeting the needs of municipalities, corporate executives and transient travelers alike. The Repair Station business outgrew the capacity of the Penn’s Landing heliport facilities and in 2006 the Croydon facility opened for business.

Sterling’s main business locations now include its headquarters in Croydon, PA, and the Penn’s Landing Heliport in Philadelphia Pennsylvania. Sterling’s Croydon facility offers over 30,000 square feet of hangar space. This includes a Bell Service Center, Airbus Service Center, Safran Certified Maintenance Center (CMC), as well as heavy support operations for Leonardo (Agusta), Sikorsky, and MD helicopters.

In 2019 Sterling Helicopter began offering full engineering services and capabilities to add to it’s already loyal and growing customer following. In 2021, FAA-PMA was added to the list of growing business ventures within Sterling Helicopter. Sterling continues to grow and support it’s existing and new clients around the world.
