Sterling Helicopter offers a full range of engineering services, these include STC development, Major Alterations, and Major Repairs. We also offer PMA manufacturing assistance for clients who own design data but either don’t have the tooling to manufacture parts or don’t have the FAA certification to do so. We have an on-staff DAR-F, as well as DAR-T and DERs for Electrical, Structural, Flight Test Pilot, Flight Analyst, PowerPlant, Vibration, and Flutter.
Sterling provides free estimates for new projects and fast project tracking services that allow your new product to get to the market faster. Full Turn-Key STC packages are available that include all aspects of certification for your new product. STRUCTURAL MOUNTING PROVISIONS
Sterling offers designing and manufacturing of structural mounting provisions for all types of aircraft, both rotor and fixed wing. These mounting provisions could be used for a variety of applications such as External or Internal LiDAR imaging systems, camera systems, special mission equipment, sensor packages, etc.
We can also ensure that these mounting systems are isolated from aircraft vibrations to protect the mission equipment. No need to have a design in mind, we can work with your idea to assist in the development of a system that will work for your equipment and flight needs.
AEROSPACE 3D CAD PARAMETRIC MODELING
Sterling offers designing services and 3D CAD parametric modeling, as well as 2D modeling for many aerospace designing needs. This includes models and technical details and assembly drawings. Sterling provides this technical data to its clients as part of an agreed service contract. We can assist you with your design needs.
CUSTOM MIL-SPEC AVIATION-GRADE HARNESSES
Sterling offers custom-made wiring harnesses of many types. This can range from a harness that powers and controls a piece of equipment routed through the aircraft or custom-made battery cables.
These harnesses are built with MIL-Spec. aviation-grade wiring that is flammability tested. Wires can be laser part marked for ease of tracing and identification. Wiring harness termination at each end can be provided by Sterling or left open for ease of routing.
EXTERNAL LIGHTING FOR AIRCRAFT
Sterling certifies a wide range of external lighting that improves aircraft safety and night flight operations. We hold several STCs on aircraft external lighting.

COMPLETE STC SERVICES
Sterling Helicopter offers complete STC services on Part 23, 25, 27, and 29 aircraft. Our engineering capabilities reach far beyond customers’ expectations. This includes the entire STC process, from application to certification. We handle all the engineering and each piece in-between. This includes designing, modeling, drawings, plans and reports, substantiation data, ground testing, flight testing, EMI testing, and post-STC issuance assistance.
Testing can be done at Sterling Helicopter, or we can travel to your facility. Sterling also holds FAA – PMA so once your STC is complete, we can manufacture parts that support your STC for you. If desired, these parts can also be shipped from us to you with an FAA 8130-3 tag. We have extensive experience in working with ACOs all over the country on certification projects. Let Sterling be your STC agent and deal with the FAA, so you don’t have to.
Sterling also manages foreign validations for its clients. If you have an FAA STC and would like an EASA STC, ANAC STC, or TCCA STC through validation we would be happy to assist.
